In 2001, John graduated Goucher College, in Towson, MD, with a B.A. in biology and a concentration in environmental science. Also in 2001, he completed post-grad program in Public Health at Rutgers University, and became licensed by the State of New Jersey as a Registered Environmental Health Specialist. For two years, he consulted in Public Health, before making a move into the building materials industry.
In 2003, John began importing flooring materials from around the world for Southern Sales Services, before finally opening his own company, JG Architectural Supply, in mid-2006. The niche for JG Architectural was the manufacture and distribution of environmentally-oriented wood flooring. In 2007, John became accredited as a LEED AP through the US Green Building Council, and has since been recognized in multiple publications for his pioneering efforts in the development of “green” products.
John regularly provides educational presentations to architects, builders and designers; speaking in front of groups ranging from 2-100 people.
